Guest Speaker - Michael J. Berman, EMLAR Corporation
Michael J. Berman was born in Brooklyn, NY and grew up on the North New Jersey shore in Long Branch, NJ. He formed EMLAR Corporation, a small business advisory practice, in 2003 after 23 years in Corporate America.
His professional experience ranges from positions with Fortune 100 companies like General Electric, Bell Canada, and General Instrument Corporation to entrepreneurial startups.
He has held a number executive positions including Vice President of Engineering for GAI-Tronics Corporation in Reading, PA, an industrial electronics company, Vice President of Marketing and General Manager for Laser Communications, Inc. a hi-tech optical communications venture startup, and Vice President of Sales for eMeritus Communications, a Bell Canada Company. As President of EMLAR Corporation, he has focused on bringing large business strategies, methodologies, and processes to small to medium sized companies in the Delaware Valley.
Michael holds a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology, and attended Graduate School at Syracuse University. He is an Accredited Executive Associate of the Institute for Independent Business. He resides in King of Prussia, PA with his wife of 37 years, Elaine, and has three children, Leland, Allison, and Rachel.
